Lorraine Mentz
Chairperson of the Board

Lorraine is an experienced social entrepreneur and network leader who has built a strong reputation working with public, private and Not for Profit organisations in New Zealand and abroad.

Her work over the last 25 years in New Zealand has largely been focused on developing and growing leaders. She is currently CEO of Hugh Green Foundation, a role she has held since early 2021. Prior to that, she was the CEO for Springboard Trust, assisting educational leaders and addressing inequity throughout New Zealand, while focused on developing and scaling it as a highly impactful enterprise.

Dale Bailey

Dale is the Chief Executive of the Springboard Trust.  He has a career focused on education and lifelong learning.  He started his career as a secondary teacher of Geography and Social Studies.  He worked at the Education Review Office in Auckland and Careers New Zealand.  


Dale was the Deputy Chief Review Officer (Northern) for ERO, and more recently served as the Director of Collections Research and Learning at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa.  Dale has an extensive community involvement particularly in the heritage sector. 

Liz Gibbs

Liz has been on the UNICEF NZ Board since May 2014 and has been in the role of Deputy Chair since May 2017. She has more than 25 years of marketing, fundraising and management experience in the corporate and NGO sectors in the UK, India, Canada, and New Zealand.

Liz was the Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children New Zealand from 2009 to 2012. From January 2013 to December 2016, Liz was Chief Executive of Philanthropy New Zealand, the peak body for those active and interested in generosity.

Debra Masters
Platform Director

Deb is a highly innovative and driven education leader.  She is experienced in designing, delivering and facilitating a wide range of large scale global education programmes and systems from the ground up, successfully implementing them into large business, academic and government clients.  

Deb has a deep committment to supporting systems change that leads to educational equity for learners in New Zealand.

Louise Taylor
Evaluation Adviser

Louise began her career as a teacher, later managing an early childhood service and then a youth alternative education facility. Most of her working life has been in the tertiary education sector working with teachers and educational leaders to support and grow innovation and equity in their settings.


Louise specialises in participatory action research, creative methodologies, and collaborative evaluation. She has a PhD in teacher professional learning for progressive social change.

Nischal Chakravarthy
Platform Coordinator

Nish is a passionate father and a lifelong learner.  Hailing from Bangalore, and having lived in New Zealand for most of his life, he has a wide and varied view of the world.  He has a strong belief that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.   These young minds need to be nurtured and supported to reach their potential, and this means far more than academic success alone.

Nish has a Bachelors of Commerce, a Bachelors of Science, and is a qualified Personal Trainer.  He is a strong advocate for community voice and a budding practitioner in the area of systems change and innovation.
